Hilda Trujillo at Museo Frida Kahlo, Coyoacan Mexico
On Christmas Eve, we interviewed Hilda Trujillo for our upcoming documentary Detroit Tenochtitlan, featuring the murals of Diego Rivera. Trujillo is Director of both Museo Diego Rivera Anahuacalli and Museo Frida Kahlo. We are very excited to include her perspective in the film, particularly relating to Rivera’s dream home project – Anahuacalli – which was built in the shape of a pyramid and filled with pre-Columbian symbols and relics.

We filmed Trujillo at Museo Frida Kahlo, also known as Casa Azul, which was Frida Kahlo’s family home. The museum is bursting with color and contains artwork by Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera, along with their collection of Mexican folk art, pre-Hispanic artifacts, photographs, memorabilia and personal items.
